By accessing or using Eventloop ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Eventloop is a developer-first event platform that enables users to create, discover, and manage technical events including hackathons, conferences, and meetups. The Service includes API access, webhooks, and developer tools.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

3.2 Verification

We use GitHub OAuth for user verification. By creating an account, you authorize us to access your GitHub profile information as permitted by GitHub's terms of service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Spam or harass other users
  • Create fake accounts or events
  • Scrape or harvest data without permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service

5. Event Creation and Management

5.1 Organizer Responsibilities

As an event organizer, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate event information
  • Honoring registrations and commitments
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations
  • Managing attendee data responsibly
  • Promptly addressing attendee issues

5.2 Content Standards

Event content must be appropriate for a professional technical audience. We reserve the right to remove events that contain offensive, misleading, or inappropriate content.

6. API Usage

API access is subject to rate limits and usage restrictions. You agree to:

  • Use API keys securely and not share them publicly
  • Respect rate limits and implement appropriate throttling
  • Cache responses when appropriate
  • Not use the API to create competing services
  • Comply with our API documentation and best practices

7. Payment and Pricing

7.1 Fees

Certain features require payment. All fees are in USD and non-refundable unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days notice.

7.2 Free Tier

Free tier access may be modified or discontinued at any time with notice to users.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Eventloop and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EVENTLOOP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eventloop from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time from your dashboard.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
